About

Hello! I'm Adib Jalal, an urban strategist working on how cities evolve through stakeholder partnership and engagement, futures research, and systems thinking. This is my corner of the internet.

Professional Background

Across 15+ years, I've worked at the intersection of research and practice, focused on urban transformation in fast-growing tropical cities.

I currently work at Singapore's Centre for Liveable Cities, advancing regenerative cities research, convening the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize Network, and developing community partnership approaches that bridge local voices with policy and implementation.

Before CLC, I co-founded Shophouse & Co (2012–2020), Singapore's pioneering placemaking consultancy, and directed Archifest (2012–2013). I've also taught at SUTD, Temasek Polytechnic, and LASALLE.

More on my areas of practice and experience.

Personal Projects

Outside of work, I walk cities, write about what I notice, and build things that don't belong anywhere else. These projects are where I think out loud: sometimes about cities, sometimes about fiction, always through doing. I also keep a list of websites I enjoy reading. Sometimes, I write and send out a newsletter.

More about these in the Projects page.
